There are bands on till late on Saturday - I don't think they kick day visitors out but the website probably has the full info

 

Ha ha ha, who's a numpty ? Me !
After reading about who was camping on which night, I just assumed it was on both days and did not read the advert properly.
So after a quick bit of family negotiations, I can confirm that I will be there Saturday.
If Technohippy comes back and says I can roll up early for the club display, do you want me in the line up ?

 

I'm getting down there reasonably early on Saturday as need to get back for late afternoon/early eve.

It would be good to catch up with the "locals" but it may have to be at the next meet, by which time my bus will be ready and will camp and drink.

 

Can I just rock up on the day in the bus? Originally had camping planned for this weekend in Leicestershire but with the weather we've had the kids don't fancy kipping in the awning. A Day trip to a show seems like a good alternative however.

I'm only down the road so might pop in on the Saturday, where will you guys be lurking?

 

to be clear: there is nothing happening sunday other than people with massive hangovers chilling out and recovering

nobody likes having to get up with a hangover to clean a van and put it in a show area that's exactly the same as it was the day before so I don't subject people or myself to this torture

other answers to frequently asked questions;

the camping field is good firm ground, its much drier than Dubaid or Volksworld show (hooray) so you won't bog down on that, the camping area has a load of stones in it to help drainage so it might be a bit of a faff getting tent pegs in but not as bad as the racecourse at brighton breeze

prebooked 2 nights camping can arrive from 4pm Friday afternoon, turn up earlier than that and you'll be given directions to Southend Sea Front which is a nice place to spend your waiting time

THE GATE WILL CLOSE AT 10PM Friday night and will not open again til 6am for Traders Saturday morning, if I've gone to bed and you suddenly have the need to leave site at 1am if its not a genuine emergency that you've woken me up for, it soon will be!

saturday prebooked displays can arrive from 8am or if camped overnight Friday can move from the camping area into display from 8am

people arriving on spec in the hope of getting any remaining unallocated display space - from 9am, turn up earlier than that and you'll be directed to the carpark

ALL DISPLAY VEHICLES TO BE IN PLACE NO LATER THAN 10AM, if you oversleep that's your problem not mine, I'm not having cars driving all over the show area once the public are in

general day visitors may arrive from 10am

yes you can bring your dog, keep it on a lead in the show area and clean up after it, if you can't control your dog please don't bring it

yes you can have a fire in a drum or other thing that keeps it off the ground, no I will not provide you with wood to fuel this fire

no there are no piping hot showers on the site, at £7.50 a night per unit prebook camping, I'm suprised so many people seem to expect this included in the price. there's a tap, you can get water

you can't pay on the gate friday if you haven't already got a ticket for camping, we'll accept extra passengers but not extra vehicles, I refuse to do a BugJam 2011 and let a laod of unbooked people in leaving no room for those on Saturday that prebooked. If you comitted up front you get in friday night if you were hedging your bets to see what the weather would do then... well, bets aren't a guarranteed win are they?

if you haven't reserved a show and shine space in advance I can't guarrantee you a show and shine space on the day - see above

its not who you know, if someone told you to contact me and drop their name in cos I know them to think it will change my mind they're wrong to do so, I'm sorry they may have got your hopes up falsely and rather annoyed at them for putting both of us in an awkward position

if there's anything else at this late stage you'll have to sort it out yourself using that little known quality... common sense
