When would that have rolled out of the factory. I mean not a cross-over but a bona-fide high indicator jobbie. Anyone know?
I think Holmsen is right Aug 72 mine left the factory Sept 72 but it has a lot of crossdresser features though
So no late bay historians who can give us a definitive answer then. Rusty - was your regd as a k or is that just the date of manufacture?
Wilma (and Zebedee I think) are registered as 1st Nov 1972, both late, although Wilma has got a fuel flap thingy. She's a Westy.
Mine was a L reg. Planned production date was Friday, 14 July 1972. It has quite a few late bits on it.
about March 1974.... who wants to argue with me about doorhandles, filler necks, the routing of throttle cables and dyno electrics? ... go on.... try me
Jonnyk my M plate says Planned production date was Friday, 14 July 1972. But was goin to see when it was first registered.
my two 72 crossdressers were built in Emden in Germany - this was actually the factory where they built all the Beetles destined for the USA. I'm guessing that Emden helped out at peak production times for building vans. It also seems that it was only vans destined for the USA which were built here too. It makes sense that they have the factory there as its right on the port
