Drive shaft bolts, do they need washers?

  1.

  2. Ok, washers on driveshaft one and torqued to 25 ft/lb as per haynes. Happy. Driveshaft two gaiters changed CV’s re-greased, bolted back up and torqued, very happy. About an hour or so.
Decided to fit tinware deflectors that came in the parts package, took me 3 hours! One on the bolts took 1 hour on its own luckily my fantastic Mrs brought me tea when I was looking for petrol to set it on fire (kidding) and managed to get the bolt started, while I was holding the tin piece in place lying underneath. No wonder people leave the damn things off, and who would have thought the Bugpack silencer would be that badly in the way. I should have taken it off, it probably would have been quicker. Now just the outrigger to sort.....

  3. Sounds good. Obvious question: you did fit the spreader plates on the CV joints before bolting them up?

  4. Yes, the bus had the spreader plates in place but just no washers, so I cleaned them all up and added the washers on top and torqued the bolts.
