  1. Some welding done during the last month. :)

I´ve been busy with much other things aswell so time in the garage has been less then I wanted it to be but every hour counts.. ;)

I plan to be done with the welding on the body before christmas and then get the motor in so it´s driveable and then put it in the barn and continuing welding on my splitbus in the winter.

And then in April or so get the DC ready for M.O.T (?) , the big brothers inspection for road worthy cars... in sweden called " Bilprovningen" . Some Cookie Cutters rims would hopefully be fitted, a nice lowering and a polish on the ugly but lovely blue paint and then it´s ready for Beach 2013 ! :)

Allright then, some pics boys n girls !

And tonight I,ve just put some bondo on it and painted it with primer, The innersill (?) has of course been replaced al the way and the floor is also done now but the out riggers is quite nice, just some fixing needed. I dont have to replace them wich is nice so see you soon and when, time will tell.. ;)

Maybe tomorrow or so with paint on it! 8)

some good work there dude, looks good ;D

  3. Its looking well. keep up the good work :D

  4. Thanks alot but maybe I should explain that I dont just mount some metal with screws, make it fit by hammer and then weld it !

On the first picture I just fix it with screws and make it fit, mark it up, cut the rusty part out and weld the new one in.

On the pic with my thumb in it you can see how this part looks like before fitted in and welded and that´s how I work.. Trial and error.. ;)

  5. Nice progress. lycke til med fortsettelsen :)

  6. The right side is all done ! :) The paint will be fixed to match better so dont worry.. ::)

Testmounted a rim aswell. It´s a ´70s Ronal so it´s also period correct wich I think is nice and hopefully it will be spot-on when it´s lowered and ready. So now I need to turn it around in the garage and keep the spirit up and the welder warm so I can be ready welding before the end of this month as my plan was.. We´ll see about that .. but I´ll try ! :D

It'll look great with those Ronals fitted - what else are you planning?

  8. Looking good fella

  9. The plans are : Lowered by two splines rear with airshocks and welded adjusters in front, maybe lowered spindles too, keep the old paint as much as possible but polished and a small adjusted 1600 engine with webers and 1:25 rockers and the Ronals on and then drive, faster, harder, scooter !!

  10. Sounds like a great plan to me. Will have to let me know how the lowering goes as planing to drop my double cab a couple of inches as well.

  11. Ok, I think an update is in place. I start with this three pictures and promise it will be sooner to next update but you see that I´m working on my car anyway! ;)

  13. nice progress dude

  14. Thanks for your nice comments boys !

It´s has been quite little job done in the garage but there has been a little more welding done and I has also got some bluish colour on to it but. Other then that I could not hold myself when it appeared an rally cheap Double Cab at a friend ! 8)

It´s ´79 , everything works , it´s all complete and the 2 liters enginge is running nice. It hasn´t been on the roads for a couple of years during to rust issues but has been in use as a tractor, kind of.. on a farm by an older man. And with some trades it became mine! :D

Nice, but what to do with it I dont know. Not just yet anyway.. ;) Probably get it back on the roads and sell it but that wouldnt happen until the summer I think.. Well, well , we´ll see.. ;)

Ok, next update will be back on track with some jobs done on der Blaue Fracht Esel ! See you ! :p

  15. Very nice. Are there a lot of double cabs out your way?

  16. Damm you are a lucky fella

  17. Paradox : If you mean lucky to have the oppurtunity to be welding rusty panels for ever , Yes ! :D

Burntout : No, there aren´t much DC´s really here around. I have now two and another friend also has two. One total wreck... and I don´t know of more at all, atleast in a 200 km radie.

You all could check around in the biggest swedish VW-forum, there are some cool Late Bay projects right now !
