So the driver's door on the bus we've just sold can be unlocked by either the key from the outside or by the button on the inside, but only LOCKED from the inside .... What does that suggest? Thanks
It's a worn 45 year old lock , new handles with locks are cheap. Re-wafering the original lock is possible but tedious... OR Tell the new owners how to lock it from the outside :- 1) push down the locking button . 2) Pull door trigger on the handle 3) Close the door holding in the trigger - I've never used a key to lock cab doors . Good thought but I'm pretty sure it used to be fine .... have just not locked from the outside for a good couple of years, for always using the slider .....
I've given them that last option and said I'd see what kind of a fix was implied given the key will unlock it ....
...or the sticky-out tab's broken off the end of the lock barrel. Or has come unscrewed and fallen off. Is the key barrel floppy?
I think they have very high expectations, I am still finding things the previous owner left for me as homework
No, of course not, but they stumped up enough to deserve a little "after-sales-service" I'd say. We're now a zero VW household, with enough in the piggy to go in search of something that suits us better ...... No doubt I'll be back in the "introduce yourself" threads before long
I refer my learn-ed friend to my previous post - #4.. That's all they need to know , no trickery involved Sent from my SM-G960F using Tapatalk
