Will splitty/prototype bay domed hubcaps fit late bay wheels? I seem to remember that I bought a set some years ago & I got them to fit my 1972 Beetle by bending the edge a little to fit the 'humps' on the wheels (don't remember if I had to bend them in or out?).. and late bay hub caps are the same as late Beetle ones, so guess i should be able to get them to fit the same? Thx.
Yes, I got some, although mine are not S/S so dent very easily, but you can't get them with the vw logo any more.
Just found a spare splitty hub cap in the garage & it won't fit. The hubcap rim is just too small to get it over the ridge around the wheel. There was a guy called Dubalicious who did late bay domed logo ones, but he's stopped doing them.. probably got shut down by vw for copyright infringement!
