When I removed the wiring loom from my bus I removed and labelled all the wires from the diagnostic socket. Now I’ve refitted everything but before I un-label all the wires I thought I’d post up the terminal numbers and colours as they maybe helpful to anyone doing the same.

Terminal numbers and colours as follows:
    (1974 1600 bus)

    5 blue with white stripe
    6 grey
    7 yellow with red stripe
    8 brown with black stripe
    10 black with white tracer
    11 black with green stripe
    12 black with red tracer
    13 grey/be1ge with green stripe
    14 black
    17 brown with white stripe
21 & 22 yellow to sensor on bell housing.

there’s also 2 large terminals in the centre- red/white (b+) and brown (earth).

Does anyone have anything that plugs into the diagnostic socket to do diagnosing?

I've made this useful wiring diagram for anyone considering this job.

I hadn't got the heart to take them to my flywheel sensor, so just neatly coiled up the cable instead

Yea I know it’s totally pointless- I don’t suppose it was a particularly accurate way of diagnosing anything even back in the day when it was considered cutting edge technology but since my socket and wiring/terminals were original and intact, I didn’t have the heart to take the snips to it…..

  9. It was a bit primitive. I’d just leave the socket in place.

I did a complete rewire on mine so the decision was easy. Usb chargers and blade fuses were top of my list. I did put my diagram on here somewhere I think.
