  6. Sorry..

Boil water in pan and add Maccaroni, leave to simmer

In another pan melt a knob of butter

Add enough flour to absorb the butter. Keep stirring.

Get out a pint of milk and add to pan a bit at a time.
    Keep stirring.

    Add more milk
    Keep stirring.

Repeat slowly until all the milk is in the pan.

If you add the milk too quickly it will go lumpy

Grate a decent size chunk of your favourite cheese.

    Mix into sauce
    Keep stirring.

Drain Maccaroni. It'll be about ready by now.

    Stir into the cheesy sauce.
    Keep stirring.

If you're feeling flash bung it into an oven proof dish, sprinkle more cheese on top and pop it under the grill for a bit to crisp up.

I like it with lots of black pepper too

  14. Watery cauli cheese, my sister's speciality, just add pink boiled bacon, an underdone jacket potato and you're ready for heartburn :food::confused:

  15. try using cream and really good cheese. not alot of people know what a rue is but if you make your own use as little milk as possible first then use cream. do you grill to crisp top or oven..

  16. yeh i used to use cream all time but i have ta cut down some times , i prefer doing in oven . what you?

  17. make rue with a little milk, then use cream and cheese (sometimes a little fresh garlic)
i only quickly blanch, oh get me blanch.. cauli
then prefer oven untill cooked and crisping on the top, if needed grill works ok to finish off. or if left over just use grill, normally doesn't get that far.

  18. yeh ill have ta go back to cream  i do it same as but been using skimmed and as said its ok unless i try n reheat

  19. in our house we have been on a diet this year but still have to have a certain amount of cheese/milk so on or it does not work, i have lost 1.5 stone and wife has lost nearly 3 stone.she eats more veg than i do but i eat more kfc than she does:rolleyes::rolleyes:
