Demorcracy is merely a veil to confuse you into thinking you have a say. Oh yes you do - you can choose which bunch of thieves and scallywags take your money and a) waste it generally, b) spend it on wars hoping they'll become a historical figure, c) hand it out among themselves while flicking you the odd crumb. :)

Vote Yes or No. My Scottish neighbour will still take in my parcels and I'll still take in hers and cut her hedge and I expect she'll buy me more beer. If the Scottish really wanted or needed a vote either way, why has it had to be given such a hard sell.....because it was never about the people?

I think, despite his many failures, Salmon chap is quite genuine in his wish for a separate Scotland. It's a crying shame (for them) that they voted no last time because Scotland hasn't faired very well since and lets be honest, if us 50 million weren't divvying up the oil money, they'd have had 10x as much per head and still will with what's left. Not so bad when you look at it like that?

I think it's time for this.

  13. That's the thing. I and every other person living in England has no say in this.
Hence my first question how will it effect me and my family.
The Scottish can do what they like, I'll leave them be if they leave me be. BUT.
If their vote effects me and my family, why don't we have a say in that?

Just heard Alex Salmond's YES speech. Very Braveheart. I was just waiting for him to start shouting FREEDOM!

If you really think you have a say in anything IMO you are deluded. When a first past the post victory happens here in terms of actual votes as a % of the population, you may find you're living under a government who a tiny % of the population actually voted for. That is not democracy, or if it is then democracy a big con, but we knew that. Democracy is still about control and if it didn't work so well forthe interests of the monied and powerful it would be banned. As would voting at all if it achieved anything.

  20. Really concerned. I will have to colour Scotland in a different colour in over 150 atlases at school. It will take ages.
