Slightly different take on the classic Busbox and I really like the pivot on the blue one! Saw this somewhere else recently and wondered about using it in a van.

The taller sides are useful in practice for keeping the belt stalks out of the way when you open the box lid.... Clever buggers :)

  3. I think there's some virtue in a removeable box, provided you have a need to remove it, or it doubles up as a bit of extra camping kit, like a seat or low table...but if it's more or less a static feature, I think a built in unit that follows the profile of the seat pedestals looks a bit neater...just my opinion mind

  4. I dont get having loose stuff in the walkthrough! Do these fix in some way? A solid box will shift instantly if you stop suddenly. Forget the interior in the back and just chuck a sofabed and sideboard in there!

Couldn't agree more... mine follows the pedestals and has a wonky bottom so the top sits level. The down side to that is it isn't as practical if you move it into the living room or awning.

Mine isn't fixed at the moment. The first one i made was in birch ply and wasn't moving. the current one is Morland ply and creeps a little. I'm considering fixing a batten to the floor to stop it creeping (my box has a little void space and plinth), but I've already found it's useful to have it removable if you lug stuff around on a regular basis and I also wouldn't be without it now as it's proved it's use so well to date.
