Yeah, but I doubt he shot past either camera on the stretch, selfish or what, two mile tailback at 30mph so some whazzer can slot in somewhere else, but assuming he did average 50mp, not get where he was going any faster. Equivalent to not indicating - no advantage, just done to ******* others off.

  7. i can go from north of Lancaster to Carlisle on the m6 without touching the pedals, forward planning and awareness helps..i wouldn't use cruise in bad weather or heavy traffic.
mine switches off if you touch any pedal or the steering if you turn it too much and the traction control if it senses any difference in wheel speed. all these things work at split second speed.
I tend to use it on longer journeys where it can save fuel, which it does a fair bit..

  9. When I started reading this thread I thought to myself, someone is bound to show a picture of a brick on an accelerator pedal... thank you so much for not disappointing.

  10. How? It just takes a digital image of the number plate and uses ANPR to provide a time between cameras. There's no speed detection or road markings to calibrate against at the camera locations.

  11. Cruise control is invaluable on stretches of average speed camera monitored roads and on long boring motorway journeys. If you use cruise control you can see how much variation in speed cars have on gradients, probably without noticing it. At least with CC you can watch the road and not the speedo / roadside for fixed cameras / bridges for motorway speed traps.

:eek:I used my cruise control a bit on French and Spanish mways @Tuesday wildchild but I'm not keen. I was trying not to disengage it then it would go into a corner quicker than I wanted to, also sounded a bit revvy on hills trying to keep the speed the same.

Also..... To disengage it I apparently have to brake. This was a bit poo on roadworks where everyone behind me was starting to accelerate at the end and I braked

@zedders im with you on that. When I'm leaving Sheffield on M1 if I'm doing 80 I'm in fast lane, by the time I'm on the M40 near dads if I'm doing 90 I'm being overtaken!

I did the London Bristol weekly Monday and Friday for 6 months. Londoners shouldn't be allowed on the M4, they drive like they do at Hyde Park Corner but at 100mph. But that was 30 years ago...

Heavier springing so as you feel the weight.

How often did you do 600 in a day and for how long did you do the job?
