After 4 weeks of numbness, weird missing leg episode, agonising pain, hours of poking and prodding and scanning at A&E and being literally crippled in bed for 3 days I finally saw a neurosurgeon today to discuss the latest MRI scan on my back. I had emergency surgery 2 years ago to remove a disc that had bulged into my spinal cord so severely that I was very nearly paralysed for life. This is fairly rare apparently. Turns out what's even rarer is for the same thing to happen again, to the disc above it this time : Only me. Is it wrong to hope I can stave it off for some time to fit in elective surgery in Winter so it doesn't mess with my camping schedule??? ;D
Its the gin i tell thee it grinds the spine thats why the call it mothers ruin Only messing hun and i really hope your going to be ok Im glad your being chipper about it hun
but if it needs do ing it needs doing so spam up sorry had to get it in before someone else did k+++ get well stay well karma
Well that puts an MOT fail into perspective... Fix your back and reconsider how uncomfortable camping can be!! Get well soon!!
I feel your pain. My back has been bad since July. Can't have an mri as I have metal lodged in my eye so need surgery on that first. My legs just go out from under me and I scream in agony. I haven't slept properly for months. Back pain is hard to understand unless you suffer it yourself. I hope you get it sorted and make a speedy recovery and that you can still enjoy the camping
Cor blimey that sucks, get it sorted though, there is nothing more precious than good health................going camping just makes life better!!!
I'd say your health is more important, get your back sorted and your quality of life will be much much better! Hope it gets sorted ASAP and alls well again
Hope it gets sorted quick smart Zoe You'll be missing out on Airedale cuddles & beard dribblings (Airedale beards not anything else you lot can think of) ;D
get your back sorted as much as you can and then we'll go camping! should we start a book on who'll be ready first you or Wilma? ) my bets on you and from Puca
Oh not good news, get well soon, you gotta be really careful with back injuries as you know, so bugger the camping, we will be here forever you can then do twice as much when you're well.
i think the back must come 1st. hope you manage to get it sorted and soon. Quick question. Was this back injury caused by a rapid exit from the bus on the way passed skirlington. wasps mmmm
Hope you are ok Zoe, you'll be back camping in no time - I'm sure you'll be sorted before I get Luu on the road : :
