Crich is in Derbyshire is has the memorial tower for the Royal Sherwood Foresters Regiment. Lived in South Wingfield for a while and used to watch the light on the tower for ages
My Grandad helped build the stand when the current one was constructed, sadly now it leans towards the quarry where the blasting has disturbed its foundation. Wingy Manor used to be a haunt of ours many years back when it was open for all to go play hide and seek. The crypt was creepy! My parents live just up from the Market Place in Crich.
Peak Practice.... some nice ladies ( and gentlemen) on that show, based in Crich. Had it been filmed in Yorkshire, it would have run a lot longer, like Last of the summer wine!
That scouse Doctor (Gary Mavers) was an arrogant git. he used to go round the local pubs being the big I am and tried it on with a mate of mines girlfriend and another friend. What him and his mates didn't realise was that all four of them did martial arts & knocked ten bales out of the lot of them. Amanda Burton, Kevin Whately and Simon Shephard mixed with the locals really well, the film crews not!
No mate, she was out of bounds. She was seeing Kevin Whately and they bought a cottage together in Holloway near the old pub, The Jug and Glass.
Wasn't he obnoxious in the series? I liked the blonde doctor/ nurse lady.. but always liked Amanda since Brookside.
I think he was yes! The blonde Dr, and pretty much the other cast kept themselves to themselves, Sylvia Syms, from memory was really friendly and down to earth.
