Coventry museum, 2 tone exhibition

    Looks really good. I have to say though, going to those 2-Tone gigs at the Top Rank in Brum in 78/79, I can’t recall seeing any black kids in the audience. On stage yes. In the audience, no sadly.

    That was in Brum, no idea if it was more mixed in other towns.

I loved the TwoTone energy and living close to a large immigrant area in Leeds (Chapletown) meant I had a great mix of mates - multi cultural would be an insult , we were all mates from the same area . I remember the black lads saw TwoTone as a soul-less imitation of the ska/Trojan music their parents played so weren't that bothered about going to the gigs , another factor being the idiot skinheads who were happy to adopted the music but gave the blacks a hard time - donkeys ...
