  8. Nice one. I see what you mean.

I don't seem to have any holes coming up under the rear seat, so some further investigating is required.

Should have got round to taking the belly pans off at the recent techenders, but im lazy!

I'll have to do it in April!

  9. Saved myself a job of having to remove belly pans (for now), by locating photos of internal holes taken during 2002 resto.

Doesn't look like I've ever had any holes under rear seat, just a vent under walk through.

Do people think the vent under the walk through could handle hot air in, as well as warm air back to heater? Eg if behind the vent was split in two with two separate 'pipes' or feeds.

I'm reluctant to cut holes under the back seat cargo floor for a variety of reasons: it's my only decent storage space, rammed full of stuff and there is an amp under there which wouldn't like hot air. Plus I'd have to cut holes in under the speakers.

Any thoughts/suggestions appreciated for the future

  10. Have you now boxed it in or are these heaters waterproof ?

I havent boxed it in as such. But the belly pan protects it from the rain enough for me

I had to cut a 60mm hole in the ramp bit between the wheel arches. Its only for the air intake for the heater so no hot air. I see what you mean about loss of space but having heat was more of an issue for me

  13. I don't think one of my red levers works properly as I don't think ive ever had heat coming out the vents under the dashboard.

  14. thanks. When the time comes ill have some decisions to make, whichever way i go with my heating

Should be connected to 2 cables one goes to the valve under the seats (for rear hot air)the other one goes to a valve in the up pipe at the front behind the hand brake (screen or feet)

  16. ill check it all out at some point.

Its a bit of a wire and cable jumble under there!

@3901mick I've just read a guide you've written about heater controls in another thread. Next time you are at a techenders can you have a look at my set up and help me understand it and what i'm missing please?

    ..nice
Thinking about fitting a modern eber in similar way too!..however..I dont know how hot those chinese things get but remember years ago I fitted an eber b2 to my super beetle just like you using og fresh air ducts (plastic) and they started to melt!!!..so bear that in mind while running it
