Chinese Night heater 2Kw

  1. Wasting your money, there's a lot of myths about kerosene lubrication, but the pumps are designed to pump petrol which has even less lubrication.

My 5kw heater in the garage has run for four seasons on kero 6+ hours a day nearly every day without problems.

  2. I've gone and bought the 5kw, probably melt me but my girlfriend will be pleased to be warm, I can always pop the roof, crank a window or extend a pipe into the awning. Just need to decide where to put the fuel tank!!

To those who’ve got one of these mounted under the van, any issues/regrets, with it being exposed and prone to getting wet?

Mines between the chassis rails and no issues in 2 years. Apart from lack of use

Mines under the bus, best place for it I'd say only thing I've been thinking about is whether or not to have a tube to the intake picing up the already heated air from inside.
As for the fuel tank i did have 5 ltr inside a cupboard but now have a 10 ltr behind the passenger seat it fits perfectly in what would be wasted space.

  7. Much more efficient recirculating the air. Testing using outside air @ just above 0C the heated air didn't come out at much more than 70C compared to the normal 110C+

Is that such a bad thing though?

70C sounds ok, 110C must be like sitting in an oven.

Mine is a 5kw believe me its hot enough...
No the reason i was thinking of pulling the air from inside was to do with condensation but after milling it over in my head couldn't figure out if it would make any difference because the air would be heated anyway.
    What do you guys think

  10. If you haven't got adequate ventilation you will get condensation either way.

  11. My heater arrived this morning, only took 2 days!! Anyone installed their diesel tank in the bus? I was thinking of mounting it under the bed as ordered a 5l which is small enough to fit under there. Just don't want it stinking the bus out.

Mines a 10ltr, as you can see next to sliding door. Recommend you use your own filter!.

  13. Mines in the rear wardrobe there should be a one way breather valve in the cap to stop any smells. They don't always work well if not I replace them with proper air breather valve. DSCN2326.JPG

I also fitted a one way valve as the valve in the cap has a tendency to fail resulting in the tank collapsing then splitting.[IMG]

  15. I put mine into an ikea cupboard that I sprayed same colour as the interior and made a cushion so it can be either a seat or a table. I used an extension on the exhaust so it exits behind drivers door. There’s a bow/indent in the bulkhead that serves as the inlet to the cupboard for the air intake for the heater so I haven’t cut a hole that side yet. I cut a hole the other side for the heat diffuser which can be angled towards driver or cabin. Fuel pump is in a sealed plastic tub secured to a chassis rail under sliding door. I started using the 10l fuel tank that comes with kit but that made the door harder to shut. Realised the funnel cap on a 10litre fuel can was good for the supplied fuel tank pipe so I cut that so it fits in and can be removed easily for filling. It’s sat on a shelf above the heater and is secured with bungee to bulkhead to keep it from moving around. I’ve had it on loads and it’s similarly noisy to an electric fan heater when on full blast- but then it’s an oven inside so I usually have it turned right down. It doesn’t heat up the inside of the cupboard at all, I was concerned because of fuel tank. E168CE2B-7784-4C92-A5E9-82558EF08101.jpeg
