Please ignore the taped up cables these will be replaced as soon as I get the correct crimps to splice in a new piece of wiring..

OK! so after a bit of a break from the project for our wedding, which was a complete hoot from then '36 Ford model y hot rod we had as the wedding car to the festy type party complete with 3 bands, 4 DJ's, street food, big loud nasty fireworks and even a bouncy castle!!! Unfortunately we didn't manage to finish the camper in time for our honeymoon but to be fair I'm really flat out with work so have decided to finish the van proper and have it in the spring/summer.. I'm so lucky mrs skyelectrix is understanding but hey that's why I married her!!!

So in the rush to get it ready before the wedding I realised I had the wrong alternator tin and no plasticky sealing thingy or a Temp II sensor for the FI. Two very lovely folk from on here sent me both and I'm very grateful...thanks lhu and mr poptop!!

so with the right tin in hand off to the powdercoaters once more, as well as the snail fan..

oh, and a new reg for the alternator

  7. A genuine copy of a steering coupler I'm afraid.

I'm guessing the real fun bit starts now...as in getting hold of all the correct FI parts and refurbing them and then refitting them. I've got a bit of a collection going on now but if anyone has any bits they don't need please let me know! I'm currently struggling with the FI loom at the moment. Do I repair, rebuild or just buy one from that fella in the states!!

Now I know the standard exhaust clears the westy towbar I might look at a stainless one..not sure which one but wouldn't want something too loud.

Cheers Rob...but it won't last! I bet we get stuck up to our axles in sticky gloopy mud on the first campsite we visit!

Repaired the FI loom today. Wasn't too bad after all, just had to fit 2 new plugs that were missing and lengthen a couple of wires. All fitted up! I'm on with all of the vacuum hoses and have replaced all the smaller ones with black silicone tubing that I'm hoping will be better than the original cloth type. It certainly looks better..
I'm missing a couple of bits to complete the FI namely the breather box which seems to be different to a carb type (which I have typical!) and a couple of the larger hoses. Also both air boxes I bought have the little mounting tab on the bottom broken off..

Thanks Martin, I always liked the sage green campers since the first time I saw one as a kid so knew one day I'd have one! Your bus is going to be incredible when it's finished. Lovely to see great attention to detail. Yellow is a great choice, campers should always be a bright happy colour!
