Changing early cab door hinge pins?

    As per title,

I’m trying to line up the front on my 72 van, and have got the door dropping due to movement in the upper hinge pin.

The pins (15 mm size) for the early style hinges are available from Autocraft, and they also do an oversize in 15.5mm.

But, they look a real hassle to fit, due to if using the oversize pin, what do you use to enlarge the door/hinge to fit the larger pin? drill or a reamer etc, as access against the inside of the door is limited at best.

Any ideas, or has anyone done this?

You need to ream the drilling isn’t a good enough tolerance, you sure it’s the pins they are blooming super hard metal

The pins are really hard to remove even with a 10mm punch and a 5 pound lump hammer they didn't move without heat.
I have some original 15mm pins if you want some pm me you address

This is a job I've 100% avoided. Thank you God. Some kind of press tool seems like a more controlled way of getting the pin out. There are tools for beetles and splitties, but those hinge pins are much more accessible. Good luck.

Definitely the top pin, can feel the play in the hinge, and when closing the door onto the B post it’s about 10-15mm down but can be lifted/ slammed to close on the striker.

    Looks a right Marmite job!

The only part that's supposed to move is the "middle" part not permanently attached to the door so if you're lucky a new pin and replacment part for the hinge? When you get it out.

15mm loose? Stupid question as you will know this but you have wind the door to pillar bolts in super hard to take out the play. Could the countersunk bit be bottoming out before it's clamped sufficiently?

Ive found the big pins easier to get out , there a spacer washer too, take a look at the hinge because that’s what will be worn , the removable bit
