I just checked and i said an initial hello back in Oct 2013 and not a lot since then.... (where's the embarrassed smile? ) Well it's 3 years and 2 jobs later and the van finally passed the MOT last Friday (the the 22nd) To say it was hard going would be an understatement and I've fallen in and out of love with it more times than i care to remember. I forgot to do a resto thread (sorry, me bad) but now that the majority of work is done i thought I'd throw up a quick thread with a few pics in order to try and document the story so-far In the beginning i started with this: It's now been 2 years of blood, sweat and tears, including 7 months inside a gazebo while i attempted to repaint her and change all of the window seals, during the winter, hence all of the straps bolting everything to the drive to stop it blowing away! The pop-top and roof lining came off for a complete overhaul as it was cracked, holey and really moldy but it's now all nice and clean and waterproof and I've gone for a cream and alloy look as it's functional and easy for me to fit! The old front seats had a very odd smell to them and weren't best attached to the van so thanks to some good advice gained from lurking on here I replaced them with a set of £50 ex-Range Rover seats and wow what a difference! The Interior was stripped, cleaned, cleaned again, steam cleaned, repainted and then refitted using exterior ply and some more cream fabric and alloy. Now I don't for one min think it's up to the standard of some on here, but it's clean and practical and doesn't look too bad! and now we're just doing the final pre-first-big-trip fettling (i.e. stopping the front wheels rubbing, curing a misfire and re-applying the decoupage around the headlights! <seriously>) and I hope to start getting out and about and then I can address the remaining jobs as we enjoy her!
