Also look at the bidding history. I hate ebay since they hide the bidder IDs, it took away a very important protection against shills. Not that they care about buyers much anyway. There is one person constantly trying to push the price up over other peoples bids. This could quite possibly the seller. If not, they really should learn about how online auctions work. The same person even outbid themselves when they were already the highest bidder!

On ebay you can place your highest bid but it only actually bids above the next highest. This means if someone bids again but still not higher than your highest bid it looks like you are bidding against yourself.
it does seem like a trivial amount now but the difference then was a few weeks wages to some peeps. I also believe there was an availability issue in the UK and I know it’s just waiting time, but when you want to buy something most peeps just want to buy it now.
