Arrived home safely after having some sandwiches and coffee and a trip round the Motor Museum (I have used one of these in about 1985)

    ..

then ice creams in Bourton-on-the-Water. We arrived about 1030 and bailed out of town by 1430 as the masses were everywhere. It was getting too social.

Many thanks to @Keith.H for the field, the use of the Cricket Club facilities , a lovely location, hope to be back next year. It turned out Burford was a place I had driven through and wanted to go back to. And it was a nice 2 1/2 mile walk along the river.

And to @iblaze for making the event just like Techenders, rolling up with the carburettor just resting on the manifold "engine stops at traffic lights", also timing was a bit off. (Stripped studs on the carburettor) And massive end float on the alternator so the pulley was chewing off the front of the alternator. Happened to have a shim from when I was in the same situation once.

My spannering quota was changing the plugs , and as I pulled off the number 4 lead, a shower of rust and bits of rusty clip came out of the end of the insulating boot. So I fitted a Bosch lead I happened to have in my box of bits. All I can think is that it water must have managed to get in there back at Dubfreeze, when I also filled up the front wheel bearings with water...

Went back via Cirencester, Swindon and then cross country to Hamble.

Your day can just drift by @Jack Tatty :)

that first Aunt Sally fella was a bit good! I’ve had a go and it’s not easy! I think Worzel Gummidge uses Aunt Sally terminology :)

One day @Keith.H I will actually make it to your field! It sounds like the ideal weekend was had - camping, sun, water to cool off in, nice local beers, the Cotswolds and Aunt Sally. Obviously not to mention the fine companions :)
