Camper Jam 2017

Discussion in 'Shows Events You've Missed unless you went' started by Betsy73, Jan 30, 2017.

  1. Is there any interest in this any more? Looked at the 'shows map' and it's not there.

  2. We have booked.....

  3. Where and when is it?

  4. I'm off to see popular* Irish beat combo, 'the U2's' that weekend.

I think it's run it's course as far as we are concerned. I think a few regulars are still going though.

We're not going due to the price rise year in year out and the decline in the hygiene and cleanliness of the toilets. Its sad as we have always enjoyed CJ and the crowd we camped with.

We're heading up North East the week before instead :)

  7. This will be my last time

  8. Not a fan of this show.....but they have UK Foo Fighters on friday night.....decisions decisions.....

  9. I saw his crop up on my facebook this evening, I thought it looked pretty good (new to the VW scene) but a bit steep in price, am I right in thinking it's £40 per adult and then £10 for a VW camper? or did I read it all wrong

  10. No mate, you got it right......two people and a van would be £90.....to wander round the stalls spending more money and watching a tribute band.
I've just booked a Sat night at MFN near Notts....Sabbath/Purple/ Zepplin triple header of tribute bands with camping....£10 per person inc camping.....thats more like it!!

  11. Yes and then it was another £3 for booking fee and a further £5 or £6 for couriering the tickets! (Couldn't find a way to avoid this) We'll be there but suspect this is the last time.

I have 2 weeks off now and looking for somewhere to go and I looked at this . I had to rub my eyes when I priced this up for 3 people
I think it's downright cheeky first of all asking for 40 per ticket then to top this there asking for 20 to 10 pound per vehicle , then as you say booking fees and postage probably on top but to be honest I didn't get so far to see if they were on top of admission fees. Talk about scene tax.
    In their dreams .
As mentioned there are other alternatives for half or less cost
A weeken p and o ferry to Europe from hull for instance will be cheaper (I know not perhaps much cheaper if at all )
So I am on the lookout for somewhere else over next 2 week.
    Any suggestion ?

  14. We use the Hull - Rotterdam ferry quite a lot but it is also very expensive, normally over £300 for two because you have to have a cabin as it is overnight. You can get to Calais on Eurotunnel for about £135 though.

    Hi sick boy.
I wouldn't take my t2 abroad it's not yet proven itself to be capable of more than 100 mile journeys .
I have a bmw 1200 gs bike I use either the chunnel or ferry from " darn sarf" if booked well in advance the return crossing can be as little as 50 quid. I know theres no band playing but the roads and respect given to bikers make it a pleasure to go . Pension (Equivalent) to bed and breakfast can be 30 quid .

  17. Anyone from the London area going to Camper Jam? I just bought a roof rack on eBay and the seller says he can drop off at camper jam. Getting some fairly harsh quotes on moving it, so if anyone can help out, I would appreciate it.

  18. Harwich to hook van Holland is significantly cheaper than this too.

  19. Just loading up the van to set off for this.....
