That’s right they don’t plonk them on Earlies but they do fit.
Mine sounds just exactly what you’re looking for but maybe not your Mrs, but no it’s deffo not for sale. It’s an Early with them gorgeous rear air vents instead of old toaster grills :theforce: but not much to mention in the way of brakes but it’s not a massive issue with a type 1 big boy motor (1641) or indeed headlights. The brakes don’t tend to get excited because the motor don’t get too frisky so the headlights don’t need to shine too far in front. Mines RHD and it’s an ex panel van but with proper windows let in. The roof panel is from a 72. Cross dresser Devon and my Poptop is from a 76 plus Devon and I’ve got rid of the canvas with all them there skiddo marks wrapped around it. My coolbox will hold up to six dozen Stella and will keep them icy cold for four days minimum, in a former life it was a steamer trunk. I have a Rusty Lee proper sized rock and roller and a two drawer smallish kitchen unit ( was once a bedside cabinet) and a buddy box between the front seats. I rock up and whiz up a cheapso gazebo connected to the side of me bus to keep the damp out of the slider and my folly uppy table goes in there with two portable cookers which are far superior to built ins any day. We haves a portable Bluetooth Blockrocker and that’s about it.
Inside, the roofs are insulated behind the ceilings / linings with a minimum of 25mm celotex, the windows are insulated at night plus we have two good Devon style vents and a window with a fly screen.
99% of cooking in the gazebo, 99% boozing in the gazebo,99% of socialising in the gazebo,

Ozziedog,,,,, 65% of sleeping in the van:)

  2. I love my Propex , some would hate it for the noise - heat with a little noise or cold and chilly ?

    It's all about compromise

Forget everything about the camping interior.
Look for a good vehicle including the cab area only, then if you find one look at the interior and either keep or change it.

If I am on hookup I have a slow fan heater which is really quiet.

Critical . Comfortable bed with thick cushions.
A sink gets used for handwashing these days.
Cooker - mines the original swing out / removable Devon, two burner plus grill, no faff with gas bottle cupboards..gets used.
Better lighting in the poptop - fitted downlighters.
    A solid but removable table.
    Compressor coolbox/ freezer

    Leisure battery.
Mains hookup (plus a 600 watt inverter can run angle grinder or a strimmer or a corded drill)

Solar cells plus proper MPPT charger.

    RHD.
Decent good condition T1 engine. Can have 2 New ones for one properly done Subaru conversion. Parts are cheaper.

Ideas and kit were stolen from my boat as we stopped camping in that.

Originally as a buyer my requirements were:

T2 preferably blue. Price £6-10k. End of.

"The Barry collection" in Portsmouth has several Moonrakers in it, from different years, for a range of prices and in a range of conditions, so I'll definitely be looking into that

I can confirm, having had a few beers in it, that this bus is indeed great. Welcoming, comfy, homely, warm and brilliantly functional.

I noticed it at TE last Spring ... "The other early" but oh so different to ours! A party bus, not an escaped trailer queen :D

19C78CC1-BE0C-4692-B98F-30EFF2A62EA9.jpeg Thanks for your smashing comments on my super little bus. We’re still progressing with the functionality theme with the inside roof almost finished, well it is but I’ll test drive it a tad then re do the rear bit once I’m happy that it’s fine. The extra speakers and shelf looks to be a bit of a disaster and will maybe just last this season and we can then figure out the MK111 version which is festering inside my brain box as we speak, shame really as there’s a good few days work in total there but if it’s mank then it’s mank

    Ozziedog,,,,,,,, insulated curtains too!:):thumbsup::)
