    stupid

  3. The PO fitted a panel on my van with the small raised bit. I was just going to fit a small badge on. To be fair, if someone can't tell what make it is without a badge then they should be slapped! Also, would putting swage-line Brazilian doors on a 75 cause offence to purists? (ex panel anyway)

  5. Large badge dosent look out of place i think - chrome or black i think the bumpers will be black

its more in line with the headlight bowls where we have it set up, not in line with the button jobbie

  7. Mine will be worse than that as my panel (not fitted yet) has the logo embossed on it!

  8. I'm surprised you havent grafted in an embossed VW symbol somehow like you did with the script at the rear 8).

if you want an early badge I guess its a case of cutting it off or disguising it

    I cut mine off

and caused a bit of distortion :(

........but it was sorted out ;D

what ever you do Im sure it will be great from a man of your skills and Im looking forward to seeing it :D

  9. I was going to reverse the button nose and make it so it was frenched in but forgot to do it its all finish painted now and I cant be asked to rework it all now just have to live with it

I suppose the problem with putting the bigger badge over the button is that little scrotes will be able to get their fingers behind it allowing them to easily rip it off...

  12. I like the earlier large badge

Dude do what you think looks best it you bus after all

  14. I'd go with the small one that fits.

  15. Large badge over flat panel = fine. Large badge over small badge raised thing = just...wrong, imho. It just fit a small badge.

If you've got the pressed "VW" on the panel, you can fit a small badge if you stick some body-colour plastic sheet behind the plastic badge.

  17. the other option (should be done prior to paint) is to bare metal the pressed badge area and do a complete micro polish on it to get it to a mirror shine, then mask it off to paint the panel.

A lot of hard work and bleeding fingers but worth it. Or panel beat the front panel to get rid of the badge, then a thin skim of filler.

Late van + big badge = pants imo but its not my van, and i'd still wave at you if I saw you coming the other way.

I'd be more concerned about the colour - it looks like bile
    :)

  18. Thanks for your kind comments about the colour I have painted my van I appreciate that thats quite kind of you -!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! -
