Here's the set of 3 that belonged to my late father-in-law in South Africa. Strangely they're all "Record #4" clamps but 2 say made in England and 1 says made in S. Africa. I like using them looking so old, I imagine them saying "Look, we were made to last for centuries - unlike you quick release wippersnappers"
Too embarrassed to show my welds. Suffice it to say 1 out of 4 bits was good, the other 3 weren't. Nothing a grinder couldn't remove. Getting there
You know what they say, "grinder and paint make me the welder I ain't" Worked for me on many an occasion

My OCD says you have to post a pic with all three in the same direction or it wont let me sleep tonight , how could you take a pic like they are , have you no morals[/QUOTE] I did start with them all the same way but then was trying to show the "Record" brand name and the England/S. Africa Asymmetry rules oK!
Got the hump with it now. I tacked it all together for a trial fitting. Turns out the the pivot sleeve is now 11mm too far towards the rear of the bus. As in the pedal rubs the edge of the hole for its full range of travel. It's the one dimension I missed. Looks like I've got to add a bit more metal on.
Until I bolted it together. Where that bolted black sleeve sits, needs to be 11mm higher. More weld & grind needed to extend the sides, again. I might remake the centre bit with the captive nuts - depends what's in my scrap metal bucket.
Thought about it but there'd be no longitudinal support for the pivot and it would look awful. Plus after all this I want to do it properly and not bodge it. This bus is certainly putting up a fight.
