Anyone have or know if you can buy the metal strip that tensions the rubber strip on the bumpers? mine has snapped.
Hi Ricky roo, just fitted a new set to mine today from C&C , they have the metal strip running through the middle. Didn't take a lot of notice if the strips would come all the way out. They were £35 each, quite pleased with the quality. Hope this helps. Cheers Lee
cheers, i only want the metal strip the rubber is fine but if i have to i suppose i'll have to get a new complete?
Back in the day the metal tensioning strip was available from VW dealerships as a separate item from the rubber (as too were the end caps). The part number for the front strip is 241 707 230. (note it is a different length from the rear one). I have on a couple of occasions seen them for sale at VW shows in Europe, so they are out there.
