Broken speedo needle - mended

So you didn’t fork it up completely ?

 

Did it ping across the room... mine took ages to find as it hit the lampshade and ricocheted off!.

I took your advice covered it and my hands with a polythene bag so I could see what I was doing and didn't lose it. Thank you for that one. I whipped the needle off my early speedo in no time. Unfortunately it doesn't fit. Not sure on the best way to fix my old needle. The white bit is so fragile and skinny (much weedier than the early type) and looking a bit sad

I thought I'd read somewhere on here that somebody had replaced the white bit with a toothpick painted white?? I'm wondering if that would affect the workings if it was a different weight?

 

I’d doubt it will have any effect.

 

£26 from the US of A is a bit steep.. a toothpick sounds ideal!

Although just for a second I thought it was one of those sword cocktail sticks you used to get

 

Down here in 'aaaampshire, we clean our teeth with grass. They're proper posh in Lincs.

 

That'd work too. My favourite bit of this fix was the price tag of 1p (£1 /100 ASDA).
