Brake light breakdown

  1. I thought I would share this with you all, started my bus got to end of Road and it cut out, turned over ..... nothing got a couple of helpful guys to push me home, checked points no spark, no power to coil either, checked fuses one had blown, replaced it drove off again, broke down again after a short distance, replaced fuse again limped home. Once home thought I would check what else was wired to the fuse, it was the brake lights, further investigation found a wire worked loose and shorted when I applied the brakes, all sorted now but I thought I would put it on here, in case anyone else has the same problem

Err.. there isnt meant to be a fuse to the coil. Somebody has had a "bright idea about safety" and moved the coil feed to a fused tag.
I bet the fuse blows when you reverse too sometimes.

The wire is meant to be a big fat wire straight from the ignition switch that doesnt have any fuse so you dont stop...

  3. ^this. Your ignition shouldn’t be fused. Suspect someone’s been fiddling with your wiring.
