Hi I have a 77 Left Hand drive European Bay on which I’m bleeding the brakes. I have 2 Questions please: 1.) Are the brakes bled in the same order on a LH drive as a RH driver ie Front Right, then Left followed by Rear Right the rear left? 2.) Does it matter if the front is jacked up while bleeding the brakes? Thanks for your help Sean Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
It doesn’t matter, the front brakes are on one circuit via a T-connector, rear brakes are on a separate circuit also via a T- connector. The fluid (and air bubbles) won’t know left from right. What snotty said.
True. Can bleed them independently. Doing the rears first does pump air out of the compensator valve, which is...useful.
Also true but the compensator valve is bled with the rear brakes if you do the fronts first. The important thing to check is for movement of the clutch lever if you’re asking a glamorous assistant to assist with up/down of the brake pedal. An Eezibleed eliminates that particular problem.
Yep , brill once it's sorted though innit In Leeds lived near a couple of scrapyards , just nipped down and pocketed a handful of suitably sized caps . I found one that fitted , drilled it to take a schreidler valve and locked it on with a couple of rubber washers - great mod ... Sent from my SM-G960F using Tapatalk
According to Haynes manual models 72 ..79 it states, front right first ...then left then right rear then left Rh drive ..
Just keep going until all the dark brake fluid stops coming out of every corner's bleed nipples. Might as well pump a complete bottle through as you arent meant to keep it. And if you use an Eezibleed , you can blow the top off the brake fluid reservoir if you forget to let down the tyre first to 10PSI.
