  1. What welder you useing and what gas ?

  2. It's a Sealey Mighty Mig 150 on ALBee 5% argon gas

  3. Keep at it dude its all progress:thumbsup:

  4. What exhaust is that by the way? Is it a Beetle one?

  5. Thanks mate, got a chunk of welding done today but ran out of wire!

Yup a standard beetle pea shooter!

  6. what year beetle or any? I like the look, does the valance need modding?

  7. Not sure as it was already on the van. I think zed has one so he might be able to answer your question

Any 1600 beetle, though I thought you couldn't fit one on a late bay. lol
I have one on my early, but not with the pea-shooters. Pea shooters would fit on mine, but they're too restrictive for my engine so I chopped a standard bus tailpipe in half to make my tailpipes. Not sure if this approach would fit on a late, but if you were doing it because you like the look it's not what you'd want anyway. :)

  9. Quick update from this weekend. Managed to weld up pretty much all the holes, just the important seatbelt mount bits to go.

  11. So it's been a while since my last update. It's been the combination of a new job, lack of funds and the MOT!

  12. Today was pretty productive in the end. Managed to seam seal all the welds (which dried super quickly in this heat!).

  13. Removed the flooring and bed yesterday ready for primering and painting on Saturday.

In the mean time I bought a sticker off eBay :)

  15. Finally got some painting done on the interior. Finished two coats on the rear cargo area and it's looking really good.

Next up will be the main cargo area. Feels like progress at last :)

  18. That looks really good!
Are you brushing it on? What's the finish like?

  19. Thank you :)
Yeah I'm using a brush. The finish is pretty good as the paint seems to self level quite well. I'll try to get a close up pic in a sec

  20. Enamel paint does self level really well and looks even better a few days later
You can get an even better finish using a foam gloss roller
