Been in tears last 2 days. Sent my van for a cheap spray job and it's come back damaged.

Does that mean the sprayer organised the collections and delivery from your home to the sprayer and back to your home? If that is the case, then the sprayer has sub contracted the transportation. Presumably you paid the sprayer for the whole deal and did not pay the towing companies separately. If so, then I would feel the responsibility for both the shoddy paint and damage to the van lies with the sprayer.

The sprayer booked the tow trucks so I don't know which companies he used but I do know they are his mates. I had to pay the drivers cash there and back if that makes sense.

Paid tow trucks separately but don't know, who they are as the sprayer arranged and booked them. I have all the text lmessages fortunately.

if you paid the drivers cash extra to the monies you paid to the 'sprayer', then they weren't subcontractors of the sprayers.

which also means you paid all of that money for a terrible spray job too

 

I did my T25 with soft radiator rollers nd it looked fantastic compared to this spray job.

Harsh life lessons.
Lets just hope if everyone is still talking to each other a common ground can be met and some compo given.

nooo, i didn't mean it like that! i thought the amount paid to sprayer also included the collection and delivery, therefore liable for subcontractors damage and paintwork. but now more money gone and to chase.
it'll be two separate claims against two separate companies, the driver and sprayer, as both were paid/contracted individually.
