  1. Hi,

We have reluctantly decided to sell our 1972/73 rare 1.7 auto Devon camper van.

The van was built in late 1972 but released in early 1973 so is one of the oldest late bays around.

The van featured in the Sept/Oct 2012 VW camper and commercial magazine under the headline Automatic for the people.

I have all of the paperwork from its build date for servicing, M.O.T's etc.

The vans previous owner worked for a car parts company and re-built the engine with genuine parts. I have a huge list of work completed which I can provide.

A complete refurbishment was carried out by Absolute VW (AVW) of Castle Donington:

    New door handles and locks
    Roof re-sealed, new hatch
    New wing mirrors
    Engine overhaul including new clutch.
New electrics and batteries including leisure battery.
New Bespoke interior in American Oak with built in fridge and cooker and built in wine rack !!
Full width rock and roll bed and buddy seat.

The new headlining, Seats covered in diamond vinyl in two colours, rear cab floor covering, front cab carpeting and mats was all carried out by Vaughan at Custom Retro in Loughborough.

The van has White Empi 5-spoke wheels and Empi front and back racks.

The underside is solid with no problems and we have just had the M.O.T and full service in May which she sailed through with no problems.

We are in Leicestershire and Simon at AVW (Castle Donington) will gladly put her on the ramps so anyone can view the underside before buying. Simon also has a number of photos on his AVW website showing the works being completed.

This is a beautiful camper and has been lovingly restored over the last 3 years. We are also selling complete with a Kyham 1-year old 15' drive away van awning in excellent condition (sleeps 4/5 in the bedroom compartment).

    £17,950.00 o.n.o
