  3. just a quick recommendation for this fella garrick clark, brilliant at repairing and rebuilding all types of engines, he done my porsche 912,and a few bays and a split. i had, doesnt, cut corners very knowledgeable with vws he always goes above and beyond with repairs, only down side is he is a bit tight on the cups of tea and biccys,i have been to his place for nearly 10 years now, . so he is a good mate and very good mechanic, give him a call for any advice, cheaper than vw garages,

    ARP rod bolts
    Chrome moly flywheel 200mm
    Turbo Thomas manifold. 1 piece
    JCB Turbo. hybrid
    modified 034 with boost retard
    Meth injected.1 nozzle per cylinder
    Blow through 40 dells
    Modified dog house shroud (more cooling over heads).
    Stage 2 pressure plate

    Took off the twin 40 dells and fitted a single 2" SU for easier tuning.

    Well Basically you cut off the heater out lets, You adjust the inner vanes so that the air blows onto the heads at a greater rate.
    If you look at the pick there is a sharp angle ,both sides. I did this to clear twin carbs , as this engine is narrower than normal, the carbs touched the shroud, Anyway, if you put your hand under the push rod tubes while its on tick over there is a very noticeable increase in air being blown through the heads ,which is a good thing.

    Done an up grade on the turbo recently, bigger cold side on the turbo,turbo relocated, Refitted the modded dellorto carbs,upped the boost psi,A LOT, increased the mod ring size, bigger meth nozzles. 350 hp

  15. A few years ago my finger hovered over the buy it now button for a complete type-4 mild turbo set up for a bus - £400 for 2-3psi. I have wondered ever since what if anything that would add to a stock 2L.
