Avoid a fire, everyone should read this

  1. Mine was done last week and I was horrified to see the state of the old ones. One breather pipe had completely uncoupled so petrol would pour out when the tank was full and I was taking a sharp left!

  2. I dropped mine off yesterday at my unlocal but very friendly mechanic to have this lot looked at. I filled up a few weeks back and a puddle formed by the rear wheel. I'm guessing the problem is at the filler neck.

I'll check mine again, luckily I don't have this spare wheel tub you all speak of, obstructing my view. What sort of substandard van must you lot drive:rolleyes:

Into the top of the air filter. Look at the picture Chris has linked to in post #9

  6. It might be the elbow at the top of the filler neck, if that perishes and splits and you don't shove the filler nozzle in far enough it runs down inside the rear arch and out near the mud flap. Scary!;)

My pipes generally seem ok but I'm not changing them as the R9 stuff is not even lasting a year so I don't see the point.

  20. I can remember doing mine many years ago when I had an prototype bay. Top tip about removing the light cluster. I left more skin in the back than only arm.
Also did the T one on the roof of the engine bay.
Never had any fuel smells after.
