Can’t move for them at the moment, they’re everywhere you turn!

Seems there must have a been an OTT H&S executive order for every bloomin hole dug at the moment requires temp lights. Yep, last time I drove home from work, there were 4 sets!!!
    Bloody annoying alright.

Lots our way as well, and for holes that cause less obstruction than a parked car would.

  6. 4,000 holes in Blackburn, Lancashire, apparently. Crazy .

  7. It seems to be case around here too, best guess is the roadworks are getting done after having been neglected during the pandemic.

Some lights are guarding potholes awaiting work, a couple of cones would suffice and reduce jams!

  10. We’ve got loads round here of late aswell
Seems a mix of road repairs and putting in gas pipes

What's the point of putting in gas pipes when they are trying to phase out gas appliances?

  15. Its a lack of senior/experienced Highways bods left in the local authorities - one of my boys works for the local council and contractors seem to run rings around them....

  16. They're like the Doctor Who angel statues around here. Turn your back on them and the ruddy things move. Have had water, gas, broadband and sewerage upgrades for two years. I'd like to know what takes two blokes forty hours a piece to do down one hole in the road.

It must be the season for them they closed off two roads by me and put temp lights on the roads your diverted onto.

  18. Shhhhhhhh. Don’t tell anyone but it’s not gonna happen

  19. You’ve obviously never worked on a building site. You only have to wonder about what two blokes do all day. I worked on one site and there were at least three blokes and to this day I’ve got no idea what they did, and that site ran for four years.

My vote was for old Landrover Discoveries - we had one broken down in each direction on a major road within 100 metres coming off the M27 yesterday.
They will fill them with hydrogen so it can leak out.
