Anyone used Calypso Campers?

  1. Hi,

I am planning a winter refurb around a full width rock-and-roll bed and have been looking around at potential interiors.

Calypso Campers are based quite close to me so wondered if anyone on here had any experience of their kit?

    Cheers

  2. We considered them a couple of years ago when we were looking for someone to do our Riviera with new furniture. Went to visit the guy who seemed very strict in what he would and would not do i.e. not willing to fit in with what we wanted!! He was also quite critical of our bus' colour!!! I guess it depends what you want - if it's what he's willing to supply then then he might be worth considering. Can't comment on his quality of work cos we didn't use him!! Not my cup of tea at all.

  4. Yep - we were not impressed!!

By the way we did get the job done by a guy in Torquay - nice chap who was willing to do what we wanted as far as was practicable and he did a good job. If you want his details let me know - if you mention my (real) name he might even give you a discount!!

  5. Thanks - good feedback.

I am going to gut my bus and start again from scratch - got a 3/4 width rnr and cut down kitchen units complete with worksurfaces that weigh a ton. I do have a very specific idea what I want and have spoken to one outfit already who seemed totally unwilling to compromise to fit in with what I wanted rather than what they wanted to sell.

    Cheers

Have worked on a couple of calypso fitted vans seams ok and solid but pricey
one thing i did notice was there was no backing on the cupboards so stuff would fall out the back.
