No need! Just an angle grinder with a slitting disc to cut the hose - wrap it in masking tape first, a vice with soft grip jaws, a few spanners and you're away. :)
Mind you, I'm sure that there's a good reason to buy more tools in there somewhere;)

How do you crimp the ends on?

Ah, I use the reusable fittings and the 600 series stainless hose for brakes and 200 series for fuel and oil.

  9. I tried with the Goodridge oil lines on the Bug with a cutting disk etc, in the end I sent them off to the supplier who did them for free, I just couldn't do it myself on my own, a lack of the knack and not enough hands. Mind you, the brake lines are much smaller diameter. But if you muck it up, you have to trim the lines again to get a non frayed edge :( IMG_20200605_185540~2.jpg

I fitted these number of years back ready for the servo conversion, still not fitted the servo yet but had no problems with them.
These are the Goodridge 'phantom' series which have stainless end fittings. Any small part that won't rust is a bonus!

  12. Mine came today, and...bum...you're right. Bit of bracket-bending to do.

  13. that's put me off ... I think I'll get standard replacements

  14. They're otherwise fine.
