  1. Just in case......

A mate of mine has a Fiat recovery truck with a Alko chassis.

That mixture has caused a problem.

His van is just out of Warranty. 67 plate. Not done a million miles as on the Isle of Wight.

It went in for MOT and failed. Rear Torsion Arm bearings.

It would seem they are built into the axle and fit for life, it needs a new axle, thousands of pounds.
Having had a read about its quite a common issue with camper vans, the issue seems to stem from the Fiat service schedule does not mention the grease points on the Alko axle as its not a Fiat chassis. The camper body builder does not mention it as they have only built the body on the chassis. No one greases the axle.

Be warned Alko chassis camper owners, probably Citroen, Peugeot as well

    Is like Meccano
Specifically for converted motorhomes static caravans
Nobody in their right mind buys the adjustable poo

  5. After enduring several bouts of FIAT ownership I refuse to buy anything bearing that badge ..
Ok ok , so it's not a Fiat chassis but being a 'provider' of quality motorhomes you'd think they'd cover every eventuality to preserve their reputation...

    Oh , hang on - they're Italians

And now Peugeot/Citroen are merging with Fiat/Chrysler.

Reason being Chrysler have crap cars but a USA market, PSA have a flexible chassis platform and more advanced EV platforms they can wrap in body shells for the USA as Jeeps or whatever..

It looks like something that motorhome dealerships would be aware of but not so likely if a normal garage does the service. I’m going to check next time I go to the dealership

My Fiat Coupe has just passed it’s MOT :)

  13. Our peugeot based one is built on a MWB chassis (like a tipper) so no alko chassis to worry about.
