FOR SALE Anyone interested in a project Devon Eurovette?

  1. Hi all,

I bought this van about 6 yrs ago and I had it for a year or so, then I sold it to my brother-in-law.

When I sold it the bodywork was starting to show signs of bubbling although it was very solid underneath.

My brother-in-law used it for a couple of years then parked it up just after spending £2700 on a new engine, some electric work, bits and bobs.

He now has a T4 and has left it for a couple of years so has no MOT and wants bodywork, but it may go through an MOT, not really sure as I haven;t seen it for a couple of years.

Still has the original Devon Eurovette (I think) interior with cooker, bunks, etc but fitted with Rover seats up front.

He just wants to get his money back for the mechanical work he had done, so reckon £2700 would buy it.

Think it could be a good project.

Please no timewasters as he's getting fed up of those!

Located in Birmingham but would need trailoring away as no MOT (but pretty sure it runs).

Here's some piccies of when I owned it, but may not look quite so fresh now! (it drove sweet as a nut when I had it). I know it's got some picture painted down the side & its got white empi 5s on it, but got no recent piccies, sorry - anyone interested would need to view it.

    2 lite type 4 engine

    Cheers

  4. sorry, but my brother-in-law is seriously laid back - it's taken him 2 yrs to even mention that he really needs sell it, so you got no chance of photos or a decent description from him! - if anyone is seriously interested then they will need to view the bus - if anyone wants to view, text me your no and i'll try and arrange a viewing - the bus is in Quinton, Birmingham.

  7. Haven't really got the time or inclination just to give all the photo jockeys something to have a nose at.

If anyone is genuinely interested in buying a project bus that needs work, they will want to view it.

The whole bus needs restoring but think £2700 is a good price.

Like I say, anyone who is genuinely interested in a project would need to view it anyway so not sure photos would add any value.

imagine it's bad, and any better on viewing is a bonus.

Just trying to do the bro-in-law a favour as it'll stay in his yard if its left up to him.

  8. provisionally sold, but let me know anyone who is interested & i'll get in touch if the guy doesn;t follow through with the sale.

    cheers

  9. If it's in the condition you described then I'd imagine it'll go. Distance isn't a great problem but wouldn't want to hire a trailer and drive it all the way from here to find it's an absolute bag of nails hence the photo request fella. Can't see the point of requesting photos if you're not seriously interested. Ah well, will be others I'm sure just gotta keep looking.

  11. Hi peeps,

Sorry, still no positive news on this bus - super laid-back bro-in-law is still waiting for said mate to stump up the dosh, but in the meantime, I've just found out that there is a video on youtube of bro-in-law spraying a face onto the side of the bus, so this may give some tiny idea of current position - not to everybody's taste (especially not mine) but the bus would need restoring anyway so the face could go, if it's not your thing!

    Anyways, vid here..

  12. It's a converted panel van? Have found something else now but good luck with the sale fella.

  13. Not aware it's a converted panel van, it's a factory Devon Eurovette, as far as the last 3 owners are aware??

Unless anyone can tell me otherwise??

  14. It's definitly a converted panel the windows give it away especially the back ones just like mine

  15. I don't think that pop-top is Devon, but happy to be proved wrong.

Indeed the windows indicate that the base model was a delivery van and not a Kombi / Microbus. Quite a lot are though, there really isn't anything wrong with that (although some people just don't agree). The slider looks like it has come from a Kombi / Microbus though.

  16. Mines a converted panel @Neptuneblue and I'm happy with it people who aren't into the scene who just look because it's a bay haven't got a clue that it's a panel conversion:thumbsup:

Looks like one my Devon had on it.

As Lardy points out, expecting prospective purchasers to spend possibly a whole day and drive possibly hundreds of miles for a look because the vendor can't be arsed to spend a few minutes to take a few pics, isn't the best way to sell something that you want several thousand pounds for?

  18. Sorry, wasn't aware that it was a converted panel van - it's got the pop top, devon bunks, devon interior - maybe someone broke a devon at some point in the past and fitted it all onto a panel van?

If the van was £10k, piccies are a must I agree, but for £2700 a prospective purchaser would defo need to see it in the flesh as it would probably look a a lot better in the piccies than it does in the flesh.

You don;t get much for £2700 in bus terms nowadays and it's a steal. A lot of people seem to appreciate this and have offered to just come and collect it without needing piccies.

Got over dozen people waiting to buy it if the geezer doesn;t come up with the cash so will be in touch with interested parties if he doesn;t - been offered a lot more than £2700, but just want it to go to someone who will have some fun with it.

Really sorry to those people but it's out of my hands - saw bro-in-law at Santa Pod on Sunday and really pushing him to give this guy a deadline so the bus can go, but he's just so laid back his word is his word and he feels compelled to wait for his mate to buy as he's given him first refusal.

  19. Ah cool. I couldn't be 100% as I only know of three types. This will be a 4th :). Every day a school day.
That's one possibility but Devon did convert panel vans as well as kombi's usually for their budget models. They did this all the way through the t2 run, Sundowner being the last of these. :)
A factory converted panel is as good as a factory converted Kombi just slightly different. :)
