6ish weeks to go!! I have a massive quandary... Lazy Nicki is coming to watch The Force Awakens but needs to be educated with the first six films before we go. I think the film chronology, rather than 4, 5, 6, 1, 2, 3 is the best way to understand the story, so have suggested we do that. The problem is that I will be doing this with her when I'm on paternity leave and I'm feeling apprehensive that the boys first film is going to be the Phantom Menace! Looking forward to watching ROTJ tho, read a blog post the other day that suggested (an option not a spoiler) the watcher consider Luke having turned to the dark side during the film and overcoming the apprentice (Vader) and master (Emporer) rather than defeating them... An interesting twist to set up the timeline
TBF I quite regularly have Star Wars days and have gone with both options on different occasions many a time. My preference is 4, 5, 6, 1, 2, 3. Although I'll take either. Unfortunately the force awakens is released the day I fly out to France on my Christmas ski holiday so I'll have to postpone it until I get back! Rough with the smooth I suppose!!!
Noooooooooooo. Show them in the correct order 4,5,6 get them excited before showing them 1,2,3 which are not as good films! Don't start her/them off on Phantom Menace, i re watched it last night and it is still pretty poor. Interesting Luke theory, have you heard the 'theory' about jar jar being powerful in the force? - that is why i re watched the Phantom menace last night! I've got my tickets for the opening night! and can't wait
Decided to watch in story chronology... Lazy Nicki fell asleep through 50% of the film which is a fair reflection! Onto more pressing issues.... who has a Star Wars advent calendar? and more importantly, who's starting theirs tomorrow?!
