Just running my loom through the engine bay and looking at the alternator I think I don't need the voltage regulator, so which wire goes onto the post and which wire goes onto the spade?
The thick wire with a ring terminal goes to the B+ post, the blue wire goes to the alt light spade. Why do you think you don’t need the regulator?
As this was a new loom there was no tags as to where all the wiring goes to so having to go through many wiring diagrams to sort,,I think the thick wire goes from the post spliced from the battery to the fuse box
Is there a tag terminal somewhere? I’d give that post a bit of a wire-brushing Also, move the alt strap a bit further away from it.
The main terminal for all the heavy duty wiring is the starter soleoid post. The heavy alt wire should connect to the solenoid as should the one from the battery and the one supplying the fusebox.
Thanks for all your replies, got most of the wiring into the engine now ,moving to the front of the van, look out for more questions
