  1. Reluctant sale of our great bay camper ‘HUX’ that we have loved for the last 6 years and can comfortably cater for a family of 4 to 5.

We have a full set of photos at http://www.flickr.com/photos/13971282@N06/

Taxed until 31st October and MOT until May 2014 with 255,660 km or (158,860 miles). The 2.0 litre engine has loads of pull, the steering is firm and brakes sharp and is a 100% solid.

This van is very original and very stock, the underside has always been, and still is in great condition and only the undertray has been welded plus underside is wax-oiled. We had HUX inspected by Brian at Lonestar VW Company, Horsford, Norwich on 25th July 2012 and have his report which confirms the condition.

The interior has a great layout, with loads of storage including wardrobe, rear cupboard, overhead lockers, bench storage, removable table and rock n roll bed. It has a 240v hook-up point with extension cable, 12v,240v or gas fridge, fold down 2 ring gas hob complete with gas bottle in vented cupboard, sink with working water tap/pump and lid which also doubles up as a drivers console table.

Pop up canvas renewed 3 years ago and is excellent condition, and the pop up’s fold down bed sleeps two adults. The dashboard is tidy, and has a working fuel gauge! The front cab has the full front cab black carpet set with rubber arch mats and we will also be including a rubber front cab mat which has hardly been used, but very handy when its wet or muddy. The rear is fitted with two lap belts, there is a tow bar with electrics and a box full of spares, bulbs, fan belts etc.

The bike rack is also included in the sale, as is our large drive away awning/tent (bought from Just Kampers 2 year ago) which also has two internal sleeping compartments, a main living area and clips to attach the awning to the vans gutter.

Overall the van is in good condition and with a bit of time could be brought up to showcase condition. It has a split charge leisure battery but needs looking at as it’s a bit temperamental.
The matching Westfalia trailer is 4’ x 3’ and has a removable hinged lid complete with rack. We have found this extremely useful as we can store the awning, chairs, tables, etc in it all year round and makes getting ready to ‘go’ so much easier.

We would prefer to sell the van and trailer together and hence are asking £12,500 (£12,200 for the van and £300 for the trailer, but if we split then we will be selling the trailer for £475.
Unfortunately we are unable to attend Whitenoise (Norfolk Showground) this year but hopefully we can find someone who will take it to the for sale arena, if it’s not already sold.

We are located in Norwich, so if interested please call Lee on 07825 714383.

  4. Thanks for your comments and wanted to price it so someone esle gets a quality van and a good price - its been fantastic to own and I'm sure we will get another in the future, but need to raise funds for an extension. W

  5. Thanks Steve - Gutted to be honest, as are the kids. Its been great to drive too, it pulls really well and purrs along at 65-70mph easily and I have really loved the LHD which lets you hug the kerbs, but as my wife will tell you its abit unnerving as a pasanger as you face the oncoming traffic in the middle of the road! Cooking bacon rolls at the local beach layby on a sunday morning is just one of those great things we will remeber. VW campers are definately memory makers!
