  1. iv just done my 76 panel silver grey with white roof!
i painted the inside of the gutter white like the roof and the outside of the gutter grey like the rest of the van.
dont know if this is how most people do it but it looks good i think

  2. :yeah that: White on the top side of the gutter.
An excellent color choice, by the way. That's one of my favorites. Elegant, subtle, very smart and stalwart looking and highly under-appreciated.
Mercedes did a similar color in the 50's-70's. It was delicious.
Can't wait to see it painted!

  3. Cheers fellas. I'll be honest, it's not my favourite colour but it's her original colour so hopefully it'll add abit of value. Just bin to my mates and she's bin primed, dry flatted and primed again. Just needs wet flatting and then she's ready for paint. Probably not today but hopefully in the week. He's really putting out all the stops to get it perfect so I'm not bothered. She'll be done for all types so happy days. Took a couple of pics of her sat waiting to be wet flatted :)

I'd rather sell my left leg but what do you reckon the value of her will be when she's done?

  4. not got a clue on value id worry about that when or if you come to sell it.
    looks great though!

  5. Running properly with quality paint and no rear seats,.... probably around $5000 stateside. Tin-tops look great but it's the Westfalias that bring the bling over here. So what is a $5000 bus worth in the U.K.? About 5500BPS?
These are wild guesses. I don't really know. Who is the guy in TLB who imports bus's from the states and sells them? He would know. Is it Joker?
Personally, I would love a good looking utilitarian tin-top (as well as my Westy), but I could not abide more than one vehicle that gets under 18MPG and still can't go over 65MPH. ::)

Busy day today. Started swapping items off my knackered engine on to the good engine. Alternator swapped, new clutch and fitted my webber. Just need to make a spacer tomorrow for in between the carb and manifold as the carb hits the alternator 😠. Should be done tomorrow. Then mot later tomorrow 👍

  17. My old bus is ready for some daily use. My verge engine out my beetle is in and running sweet. Should pull abit better now. It has bin ported and polished, eagle cam, twin choke webber and a new clutch. Passed mot yesterday. 2 advisories. Brakes slightly binding (hasn't bin used for nearly 12 months) and 1 of the rubber boots has split somewhere. Just need some new side window rubbers and im sorted. All ready for All types on the 19th 😁
