Hi there, We are located in Australia. Our camper is a 1973 Westfalia Continental which is pretty much in original condition. The first owner purchased it new from Westfalia and toured Europe in it. He then moved to Australia in 1975 and brought the camper with him. The Camper was later sold to a second owner who, after doing a couple of big trips in it, pretty much stored it for 15 or so years, keeping it serviced and registered. We are the fourth owners of the camper (well, we like to think of ourselves as 'custodians' of its originality!). Almost all of the original Westfalia interior components are present including the original 'autumn gold' upholstery (but without the cooker, stool and roof bed. We have replaced the missing cab bunk and also had to purchase new, replica checked curtains for this model along with a new pop top sleeve (which we have not yet installed). The majority of the paintwork is original and in pretty good condition for its age. We are hoping that someone might be able to help us out with an original cooker/stove for this model? If anyone happens to have one of these lying around that they would be interested in selling, or has any suggestions about avenues for us to investigate to try to locate one, please let us know! Regards, Shaun and Erica
G'day from your former empirical overlords.... (this is a joke btw, just playing with @Terrordales usual greeting )
Very nice! Welcome on board! Each and every question you have about your beautiful camper will have an answer sprouting forth from this group of unpaid professional van mechanics (owners). LOL Cause we love to talk "van". Welcome and enjoy your ride. LOL
Nice van, mine is the same model and would have been the Same colour if it wasn't changed 12 years ago....
