  2. Same one! Mine is a 1972 Crossover Devon Moonraker on an L plate, hence my avid interest in your thread!!

The pop top was original and had seen better days. The top vinyl was perishing, the seals were perished or had popped and it was bowing like mad! Have bought a sheet of aluminium and have managed to get a donor outside frame. Only downside is the inside frame was missing so have had to take mine out which has left everything a tad unsupported and far from watertight! Still on it's way now. All shaped and stuck down, just doing the final filling before painting. Next will be the fun bit of trying to manhandle it all back into place!!

Decided to lose the main roof vent, as wasn't keen on the protrusion and potential leak factor in the future, so now just trying to work out best way to ventilate without it. Toss up between louvre sides or a safari rear, but given the budget priorities I won't be making my mind up for a little while!!

I've all the original interior too, but it's a bit tired in places so will need some attention at some future point. Plan for 2014 is get the pop top water tight, engine out for a service and good once over, re-paint engine bay, replace offside battery tray and corner and insert inspection hatch all before the end of May when I plan to spend the rest of the summer using it to justify it's existence!!

Best made plans and all that, eh?!! :)

  3. One of my next jobs is re vinyl the roof, just a case of getting round to it, and some decent weather........I tried fibreglass paint, but even that didnt seem to work, so back to the original way!.........The whole poptop will be coming back off before long too.......I forgot to pump sealant around the edges when I refitted it.....Doh.....
My outer section is a bit warped, so sits higher than it should at the front, letting water in under......always something.......

  4. Exactly! I'm trying to plan some workshop space for the engine removal and welding work. Van has to be undercover and once the engine is out it's a pain to move about and store. I really could get so much more done if it would just stop raining and warmed up a few degrees! :/

  5. Had a go at making my own panels using some plywood ready cut off ebay........quite pleased with the results, I used hidden fixings, which are a bit of a pain but worth it in the end......

Oh, and need to find the right hand table bracket...........

  6. Same conversion as mine but the previous owner replaced the units with new using them as a template. Id love the measurements of the sink/cooker unit on the right. Any pictures of it?

  7. Let me know what dimensions you need.........

    Did some more panels.............

  8. That last picture. It's the exact setup that was in ours . Unfortunately this unit with cooker? Is missing . Not sure if I'm honest what it houses. Thanks for the reply and pics.

  9. Thought I'd add some more pics......interior is on the way to being sorted after using the van semi finished last summer.........
Pop top roof is now revinyled and watertight.
Hammocks done away with, and new headlining fitted to sides, just the ends to sort now.
