I dunno to be honest, chemistry is worse than voodoo to me, I'll ask next time I go along to the paint factors, but no button, no hardener, I know that much.
Never heard of that one. 2k stands for two component. It’s only when the two components mix that that you get the fully cured hard paint. As mentioned above curing times of various 2k paints vary with their chemistry but are usually fully cured within a couple of hours never heard of a premixed one. The stuff I bought has a base chamber to separated the two components. You press a plunger in the base and then the clock ticks away
Yeah, my local paint factors offered me that type of can when I told them the converted stuff wasn't up to snuff where I wanted to use it. I must be oil based, the converter, that is, as the resulting applied paint is most definitely not petrol or oil proof and it takes ages to harden properly. I am thinking of clearing some old tat from my workshop and buying me a proper set up, compressor, mask and gun.
Yep I agree, the Industry is unlikely to persist with isocyanates and the health issues if there was a genuine alternative. From Jawel below https://www.jawel.co.uk/jawel_pdf_data/painters_guide/painters_guide_2K- NON-ISOCYANATE_paint.pdf
