240V Hookup

  1. Hi

I'm new to this so be kind to me.
I'm picking up my first T2 bay on Friday.
Its got a 12v leisure electrical system, leisure battery and fridge etc. But no 240v hook up.
Does anyone know where/who can supply and fit a hookup, consumer unit, couple of sockets and wire in the fridge etc?

    Thanks

  2. Is the fridge 240V? Or is it not wired into the 12V?
You can buy a kit from JK or from ebay (without scene tax).
Fairly simple to do if you're competent.
Depends on where you are as there's plenty of specialists who'll do it, if you're close to one of the more competent TLBers, they may help you.

I did mine in a day or so.
Hook up point, consumer unit, sockets and battery charger.
If your fridge is 240v it'll only be three more wires. :)

  4. Have a search on posts by Matty. He knows his stuff on electrics.

  5. Hi

the fridge is 3 way, but only hooked to 12V.
I should have said Im in South Yorkshire,

the combined charger/inverter looks usefull as well.

  6. Where abouts in aouth yorkshire are you mate? I did my electrics recently. 240v hook up mainly as mine already has a split charger and leisure battery, my 12v in the dash isnt even wired in so i need to do that next.

Im in Killamarsh if you want to pop by at some point and have a look at mine? I did it all except wire up the consumer unit, my neighbours a sparky so he did it but you can copy mine?

  7. Hi Brucie. Thanks for the offer much appreciated. I think I have unearthed a good local guy , who is building motorhomes in an industrial shed. I saw him today and he seems to know his onions. Ill update on progress.
    I live in Barnsley.
I know killamarsh a bit, I built a load of houses up on Bridge street about 20 years back.
My mate Bolge from Hackenthorpe lives very close, he's just put together a mini 1275.
Is" Micks Quality Cuts" still doing the mega sausage butties?
