Hi Kevin, Nice work and what a contrast, epic rust hidden behind deep shiny modern paint. You asked about the base of C posts, here are of piccies of the repairs to Lottie: on the outside curved box section welded to inner sill above jack point this is a bit rough and in heavier plate, but will be covererd by rear outer sill. The bare metal plates for OS and NS welded to the floor after all the floor repairs were done. Hope this is of some use. Martin
Thank you Martin. Another update. Pinned the sill(s) sliding door middle runner, fitted both doors to ensure the right geometry etc.. It rolls nicely.. I've made no adjustments as of yet to get a "better" fit but happy so far.. Plan on doing the rear left outrigger/jacking point and the floor area above this weekend. Awaiting the panel above the sliding door middle runner.. Sent from my YAL-L41 using Tapatalk
Today i finished getting the jacking point, out rigger and floor support repair pieces in.. Bit by bit... Sills in next.. Then floor repair.. C pillar lower repair. B pillar.. Onwards and upwards Sent from my YAL-L41 using Tapatalk
Unfortunately due to change of job position, family changes etc i no longer have the capacity to carry on with this project. Thank you to those who have offered guidance and help along the way. A great community which no doubt i will be part of still.. May end up just purchasing a completed bus.. My bus project and all spares will be available to buy all together. Hi Kevin, I know its a hard decision to make but I know just how much time and effort is needed to get the sort of result you were aiming at. I abandoned a previous resto project of a 73 Devon for similar reasons back in 1988 and it is one of the reasons I embarked on my recent resto of Lottie now I am well into retirement. I think you have done the wise thing and hopefully you can pass the baton on to someone who can continue your excellent work. Hopefully you will be back on TLB perhaps when T1's and Scoobies are routinely replaced with Tesla guts or even fuel cells!!
