My bus is a Volkswagen Type 2 Bay window Westfalia Berlin Deluxe. She is owned by the Jones family who call her Milly named by the original owner. It has a 2.0L air cooled Fuel Injected engine & is kept in an original condition apart from a few subtle modifications. We use the bus every year for family holidays & weekends away. She is locked in the garage from November until March so never drives on salted roads. We have owned her since September 2008 but she has been in the UK since 2006. When we had her:- How she looks now:-
Milly in Paris in 2011:- Milly at the the Nurburgring 2011:- A typical camping set up:- Hope you like it any questions ask away.
So did you drive it round the Nurburgring and if so what was your time? Hmmm, let me guess in a 2 litre 70bhp bus...........around 25 minutes?
Volksworld November 2011 issue out soon in the shops. Milly & Vanilly are on P35. Great pics story. A mention for www.vintagevwweddings.co.uk too.
Hi, It is a real pain to fit, especially around the rear corners, I have taken mine off & gone now for the Aluminium one as listed here:- http://www.customandcommercial.com/details.aspx?id=1390&Sub_Category=1743&group=61&category=340 Given the choice I'd not do it again. I would use pop rivets rather that self tappers, make sure you treat all the holes you drill to prevent rust. Good luck.
