  1. Thanks, midmusq. I find the ride height a good compromise. I love the slammed look, but this keeps me from notching the frame and lets me over speed bumps. I do have a roof top carrier i can use, and am thinking of a side tent for those midnight bathroom emergencies... I would love a single wheel trailer, but so far i haven't found anyone willing to give one away!

  2. camping last night...

  3. $100 the set! Will be a while before i can afford the adapters and tires...

It will Junichi, here is Al's bus running the same wheel! The white early westy in your pic looks superb, I looked round it the other week, very nice!!

  6. Nice. I am always torn between what i feel is the better look and simplicity of an prototype bay versus the more practical, more powerful late bay. I would have a hard time giving up my torquey type 4 and my nice big roof opening/bed. But man, those earlies are pretty!

Far from perfect, but good enough on my budget! Just ordered inner and outer rocker panels for both sides too!

  8. Got my gas heater working! Just need to redo the exhaust for it...

  9. Got the best present from my daughter, Hana:

The grey parts are very nice quality...

  10. Inner rocker tacked in:

Oops! Not what i was trying to wire wheel...

Outer fitted, seam sealed to floor on inside, ready for welding:

  11. Bed time, so no more tonight..
Gotta be on the road by tomorrow night, so i will close up the big hole in the fender well, maybe a few more welds on the seam, and then it's on to temporary paint!

  12. Ouch that injury looks sore.. Good work tho I like that your keeping it rolling while fixing the rust

  13. N
    No choice!

  14. Keep it up mate, keep the post rolling in. what lowering kit are you putting on it?

  15. It's lowered on adjusters up front and wagenswest 3.5" horseshoes in back. Would like dropped spindles for a softer ride but probably would stay this height- needs notching out back to go any lower.

  16. It's ugly, but it's not rusty!
Good from far? Almost.. Is this this what they mean by "wide whitewalls"?

  17. Looking less rusty now. You're gonna have to change the name.;)

  18. You're doing great work. I think that's the way to go, a bit at a time and then the grant finale of a coat of one colour paint. LOL And yes wide whities on a Westy are cold. LOL

  19. Here we go again!

Wife got a new car, so that leaves me with 2 vehicles for a bit. Good time to tear into the bus sliding door side rockers and not have to drive it everyday. This should be the last rust repair before winter. Arm is mostly healed up so it's back to work!
Once again plenty of rust to remove!
Just need to find some more time!
And yes... I think we will soon move from Rustfalia to Ratfalia!
